Stop adobe reader from updating
Honestly, until I researched the issue, I blamed the PDF too!So, I am trying to figure out a way to fix this issue for my users. There is a known issue with opening a PDF in Internet Explorer (v 6, 7, 8, 9) with Adobe Reader X (version 10.0.*).The browser window loads with an empty gray screen (and doesn't even have a Reader toolbar). These troubleshooting steps get progressively more difficult and time consuming, so we strongly recommend attempting them in ascending order to avoid unnecessary time and effort.Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid Error 507 keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional.
If you receive a message that tells you that Flash Player is out of date or a new version of Flash Player is available, you can verify this by visiting the Flash Player Help page with your browser.Because of this risk, we highly recommend using a trusted registry cleaner such as Win Thruster (Developed by Microsoft Gold Certified Partner) to scan and repair any Error 507-related registry problems.Using a registry cleaner automates the process of finding invalid registry entries, missing file references (like the one causing your 507 error), and broken links within the registry.I've considered providing a "Download PDF" link (that sets the ), but my company does not like that solution at all, because we really want these PDF files to display in the browser.I'm really hoping for a solution that is seamless to the end-user, because I can't rely on them to know how to change their Adobe Reader settings, or to automatically install updates.
If this is not accepted by an Admin user (this can be configured with the config Wiz) then an HKCU key is created for each user when they ‘Accept’Users have the option to open and save files from the cloud.
